Good noise isolation, materials can't withstand

I bought them as something to drown out drones on buses and planes and for that purpose it's fine. You can still hear voices, but they're clearly audible in the background. They don't eliminate all noise - don't expect that. Updated 09/2018. Although the headphones are ALWAYS stowed in a case and are only used for transport, the seam on the ear pads is now coming loose. I suppose I can sew them together, but they're clearly not strong enough. Considering it's almost $100 to buy, I figured I'd…

The in-ear headphones fell apart

Bought for home use. Audio Technica has been a trusted brand since I was a child. They ensure a snug and comfortable fit. The noise cancellation significantly reduced the noise of the lawn mower. The sound quality when listening to podcasts was pretty good. After about six months of regular use - once a week - the faux leather started to separate from the foam rubber. This had no noticeable effect on the sound quality. Another month and most of the internal fabric has peeled away from the…

Poor design, very short lifespan

When I bought these headphones I bought them because I was blown away by reviews comparing them to Bose QC headphones. I wish I had paid more attention to the lower rated reviews (which I later found to be numerous and fairly consistent). The noise cancellation was good while it lasted. The sound quality is really poor when ANC is off, but as soon as you turn it on, the audio gets louder and more detailed. After less than a year of use, I noticed noise when touching the ANC switch. This noise…

DO NOT BUY. Manufacturing Defect Power button with incorrect contact

In my experience this product has an inevitable manufacturing defect. After 8 months of normal use, I noticed that there was a noise when I touched the power button. Gradually, after 2-3 weeks, false contact with the ground appeared and at the same moment it stopped working. When connected to the internet, the AT guarantee was available; the instructions were easy, i sent them out and got a new one every 2 weeks, even when I called or sent and emailed; Excellent customer service, I was…

Great alternative to Bose (no really)

I've tried several active noise canceling headphones over the years. I haven't owned Bose headphones yet, but at least tried them on in the store. I could never justify the price even though they may be next - little by little I was slowly moving up the price scale. Anyway I have a pair of Audio-Technica monitor headphones which are fantastic and after a lot of research I settled on the ATH-ANC7B. The fit is fine. I have a big head and need to expand them as much as possible. They fit my head…

Bose is significantly better in comfort and performance

I bought them and got a set of factory refurbished Bose QC 35 IIs a day later and tried both side by side at home. Conclusion: If I only needed noise-cancelling headphones for a trip, I would have thrown away the headphones before buying Audio-Technica. If I was flying regularly for an hour or two, I would save some money and buy an Audio-Technica. However, I have a job that involves a lot of travel and sleeping on international flights - the Bose is much more comfortable on my head so I'll…

Bose QC15 vs Sennheiser PXC 450 vs Audio-Technica ATH-ANC7b

Bose QC15 vs Sennheiser PXC 450 vs Audio-Technica ATH-ANC7b Discovery: I tried everything on the plane. I'm not an audiophile. Noise cancellation is the most important attribute for me. Carry Case: All three are pretty solid and sturdy. 1.) Bose is the smallest, inconspicuous, has space for an Ipod, accessories too. 2.) Sennheiser is boxy, unobtrusive, but there's not much room in the case for anything else. 3.) Audio Technica is a nice big suitcase if you want to carry extra things (Nintendo…

Your own onboard concert.

Excellent noise canceling headphones for air travel. After the pilot has allowed the wearable electronics to connect these headphones to their tunes, close your eyes and imagine your favorite band playing a private concert on this rock party plane! Pros: Simple, wired, uses a regular battery and regular 1/8 stereo input, folds easily with a hard case and comes with a 1/4 to 1/8 adapter, has good sound quality and noise cancellation. Price compared to other devices. Cons: Thin as a hair, like a…
