Great to complement

. The font is large and there is nothing on the pages to distract from the lesson. Suggestions and examples are age appropriate. A solution key is also given. Not to mention, once your child knows what certain types of phrases and words mean, they can do it themselves. I would like them to have a list of dictionaries and/or a dictionary. Sometimes my kid forgets what things mean and the book doesn't tell you that. That means: a connection, and I had to tell her what that meant and let her…

Best workbook for writing

My 11 year old son has a learning disability called dysgraphia (writing disorder). The words get confused in his head and he can't find the right paragraph. I've tried SO MANY PROGRAMS with no success. This particular workbook starts with writing good sentences. This is part 1. In part 2 they start writing paragraphs and talk about different types of paragraphs. My son is doing really well with it. DON'T MISS PART 1. Seems like a great book.

I bought it for my son next year (grade 4). He writes reluctantly and still doesn't understand how to "smooth" the paragraph. I like pages that start with a paragraph and the child fills in the rest with 2 or 3 more sentence starts (pp. 64-69). I think this will help him write more fluently and not sound like he's making lists.
