Review on Audio-Technica ANC7b-SViS QuietPoint Noise-Cancelling Headphones with In-Line Mic and Control by Chris Burks

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Good noise isolation, materials can't withstand

I bought them as something to drown out drones on buses and planes and for that purpose it's fine. You can still hear voices, but they're clearly audible in the background. They don't eliminate all noise - don't expect that. Updated 09/2018. Although the headphones are ALWAYS stowed in a case and are only used for transport, the seam on the ear pads is now coming loose. I suppose I can sew them together, but they're clearly not strong enough. Considering it's almost $100 to buy, I figured I'd get a good five or ten years or so if I didn't abuse them. I don't like disposable devices and I try to buy better things that will last, not ten cheap things that won't last. I'm disappointed in the design of the ear pads.** Update **Although a little annoying, you can ship a pair of replacement ear pads off ebay for less than $5.00. Just search for ATH-ANC7B and sort by price. I have ordered them but they are not in stock yet.
