I can say with confidence that Audio Technica engineers know how to create high quality audio products and you can see that in the headphones they make. This is my third pair of AT in-ear headphones since the CKM-50. Wow, these were incredible headphones for an aspiring audiophile like me. noticed how great they can reproduce the sound! The second pair of AT headphones was the Solid Bass CKS 1000i. It was such a popular headphone. The bass response was so incredible, overwhelming at times depending on the song and style of music. The clarity stayed the same and the vocals came alive. But now we move on to a Bluetooth headset that I've owned for almost seven months now. These bad boys are such damn incredible words that they can't fully describe the sound they make. If you're a bass lover and want to push your bass to the limit, go straight to the Solid Bass line, you won't be disappointed! If you want tight, punchy and more precise bass, they are very good. From another bass earphone, from another brand that starts with an "S", I initially missed that over-the-top punch. It took some getting used to the more subtle bass, but once my ears settled I was happier with how the bottom end of this set came out. Let's come to the midrange and especially to the upper/higher range. Where these headphones really excel is in higher frequencies. VOCAL! Vocals have never sounded LIVE and RELIABLE! One of my favorite examples of tracks where I really felt the singer's voice coming towards me like she was right in front of me is Zedd's "I Want You to Know" featuring Selena Gomez. Mastering this song SHINES with these headphones. When I close my eyes, they pretend that she sings to me every time in my room! Whether you listen to dance/electronic, folk, pop, acoustic/jazz/orchestral music, you'll be happy with these headphones. I'm a music producer, my passion and I take sound very seriously. I know what I want from my audio gear and expect the products I buy to deliver the best possible sound and having bought and then lost my previous AT headphones I knew I had to do it again with a brand new kit could try and not be disappointed. I have learned to trust their audio philosophy and the quality of their products! Build quality is pretty good. The neck strap isn't a big deal and sits comfortably around the neck, but I'll admit I'm not a fan of wearing anything around the neck. As I said before, the vocals really come alive on the ANC40BT. From Josh Groban, Michael Bublé, Barry Manilow to Celine Dion, Imogen Heap, Barbra Streisand and more, their voices light up like the roof of the Chrysler Building! I can't believe my ears when I lay down and hear these artists sing. The soundstage is so natural and wide. All instruments sound clean and clear. Bass does not interfere with other bands in the frequency table. The album that stands out so easily in these headphones is Stages by Josh Groban. Wow I get excited every time I hear this great album. I live in dance/trance music but my tastes are diverse as you can see from the list of singers/performers above. I can't say enough, so far a few months later EVERYTHING sounds great. Nothing I hear on them disappoints. One final feature that really wins me over about this set is the ability to use it as a wired set when the battery is low! I love making music on the go with my mobile device, the LG V20 in case you're wondering, and I also need a wired dial to avoid audio lag when using the on-screen piano/keyboard. I will say that the excellent headphone/audio chip in the V20, also known as QuadDAC by ESS, really allows these headphones to work more naturally and, wow, they even sound LOUD! I highly recommend this phone and listen to this wired while lying in bed, the sounds start to breathe even more and your music sounds even stronger. You will close your eyes and just listen to the music, you will hear all those little "thin but present" sounds that you didn't notice before and be amazed how you never heard them before! .Most mobile devices have weak/not-so-good sound processing chips, which means the sound quality can degrade and ruin your audio experience, especially with higher-end, more expensive headphones/earphones as they don't provide enough power output. just the right amount of sound so after testing it with the included audio cable I can heartily recommend the LG V20 to anyone who needs the 'best' audio output from their mobile device when using these headphones. Whether wired or wireless, these headphones meet all the needs of audio/music enthusiasts! mmm Wait, they're noise-cancelling too, right? Oops. I almost forgot to mention that! My first experience with them when they emailed me: I was in Olive Garden testing this feature, WOW I was blown away because I could only hear music and nothing else. The whole place was full of happy people eating delicious food, talking and laughing. I couldn't hear ANY of them when NC was on! It got to the point where I even forgot where I was and my ex-wife got upset because she was trying to get my attention and I couldn't hear her nagging voice! For me, this feature is most useful when I'm traveling around town on a city bus. I can't compare this feature to any other kit as this is my first noise canceling kit. But yeah, it works pretty well. So here it is, I hope it can convince you to buy my new favorite pair of headphones of all time. Music has never sounded BETTER!
