Review on πŸ’‘ High-performance GE Lighting 37771 Heat 250 Watt Bulb by Kurt Ferguson

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Previously opened and improperly repackaged; Both bulbs failed after less than an hour of use.

Problems: 1 - no padding in the boxes; 2 - stabilization cards were not on the stalks of the onions, but lay freely over the large ends of the onion; 3 - a lightbulb broke the ceiling lamp on the third inclusion. The second tuber died a more dignified death. When I opened the shipping box, I saw two GE boxes that looked like they had been opened before. Upon opening the first factory box, I noticed that the flat white cardboard disk that should have been on the base or rod to stabilize the lamp was instead sitting loosely on the lamp's broad surface. The second lamp was also packaged incorrectly. There was no upholstery material. Instead of demanding an immediate refund, I installed the lightbulbs and flipped the switch. Both are backlit. I turned them off after a minute or so. The next morning (today) I turned it on, showered and dried off, then turned it off. Tonight after training I turned them on for the third time. A few seconds later I heard a pop. Both bulbs burned out; one hanging an inch or two below the other. It broke at the base and I had to remove the base with pliers. The second bulb did not light up after the obviously defective one was removed. Then I had to vacuum the small pieces of glass that had fallen on the floor and carpet. I installed two regular light bulbs and they glow from the same lamps. (The image of the "surviving" lightbulb in the stabilizing cardboard box, showing it was never installed, was a post-survey recreation.)

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
