Review on πŸ” Acer Chromebook 514 CB514-1HT-C6EV: 14" Full HD Touch, 4GB LPDDR4, 64GB eMMC, Backlit Keyboard by Bobby Plymell

Quality build but limited Google support.

I like the Acer brand. Even their inexpensive products not only look high-quality, but also durable. My last Acer laptop lasted 7 years. I expect this one to do the same. The trackpad has a slight smack on the left side. The trackpad is surprisingly responsive and the clatter doesn't bother me. I particularly like the non-reflective touchscreen. The touchscreen itself tends to get dirty easily, so I won't be using it often. My biggest issue with this Chromebook is actually Google's update policy, which I wasn't aware of until I made this purchase. Check it out at: support.google.com. This brand new Chromebook could last for the next six or eight years, but Google will only support it until June 2024. Google only supports each Chromebook for six years from launch date, NOT release date. buy even if brand new. If I had known that, I would not have bought this two year old model. I would buy the 2020 model instead. Yes, I feel cheated. This policy must be clearly marked on each Chromebook and clearly explained in the Revain product description. Because of that policy, this Chromebook I bought just a few days ago is only two-thirds of what I paid for it! Are there lawyers here? I hear a class action lawsuit! I like Acer. I like their products. My only regret is that I didn't buy the 2020 model.
