. . . the results have been mixed and very interesting. After they've cooled to room temp after I've roasted them I immediately put them in my small Preparas and I've been surprised to see that they take at least twice as long to gas off CO2 and become palatable when stored in the Preparas than if I put them in a coffee bag with a one way valve, but the beans also last at least twice as long while palatable than if I'd stored them in a coffee bag with a one way valve. So, I suspect that though the Prepara's one way valves are very efficient at evacuating O2 when the unit is being closed and keeping O2 out once purged, the one way valves have trouble leaking out the slowly volatilizing CO2. So this is a great unit so far for my purposes but with a slight imperfection. Btw, the fact that the roasted touch only stainless steel or glass rather than the plastic you find in standard coffee bags is fantastic. No BPA or other xenoestrogens thank God.
