Very happy with this mug. I originally used a small hydro flask for the same purpose, but the coffee lid had a few grooves on the inside that were difficult to clean. In addition, the rim was too narrow, so I couldn't put the AeroPress directly into it when making coffee. This mug makes up for both of those shortcomings. The lid is simple, closes tightly, does not leak and, above all, is very easy to clean. It's also wide enough to use with my aero press. As for how well the insulation works, it's best if you preheat the mug with some hot water before pouring coffee in, and of course close the lid when you're able to expand. Anyway, nothing overwhelming with its heat retention. Works long enough for me, slow sip. I'm very glad I only paid $8 for a quality product. Also probably get 16 oz.
