Review on Suunto Core Brushed Steel Watch by Eric Teofilo

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Problems for three years

I've had my Suunto Core for about three years and wore it exclusively (including while I was in Iraq) so I think this review is worth reading rather than someone reading it has had it a week. I'll start with the positive things. The watch head is very solid and all functions work as advertised. Now for the negative; The material from which the bracelet is made is very brittle, it seems that when it dries it rots and cracks. I used to have to change bands every year, which doesn't sound bad, but they're $50 each. The battery life is terrible and I don't even use altitude, barometer, depth and compass regularly. I change the battery at least 3 times a year. Customer service is terrible, if the strap breaks the first time Suunto won't replace it even if it's under warranty. I would not recommend that.

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Useless features
