I used this whistle instead of yelling at my 4 month old Irish Setter puppy. I live a few acres on a fairly busy road so the noise around me kept me screaming for my pup to come. The first time I used it, it caught my pup's attention and then I called him. I gave him some treats because he came so quickly. It seemed to work for him every time, and after a few days he came right away with a whistle. The pipe is well worn in my garden and has been so successful that I bought it specifically for other members of my family. He will come with a whistle every time, and sometimes he will ignore the "come" command.
