Very loud, great prevention!
I feel much safer with this alarm when I walk my dog in the evening. I made a video to show how loud and penetrating the sound is. Ears hurt when near. I expect people and animals to run away. Make sure you try activating it before relying on its security. Two quick clicks to turn on, hold to turn off. I also carry a mace, but honestly I think it's the best option since it doesn't require aiming and I don't have to get close to anyone or even "attack" them. More preventative than defensive.
