These used to be the best wool clogs money could buy... until Haflinger went from a black rubber sole that obviously scratched hard floors to a beige rubberized synthetic sole. I didn't mind the black rubber sole version but I recently bought my 5th pair (about 8-9 years old) and got w. beige sole. The clogs worked well until the heel and toe areas were "sanded off" from walking on our carpets and are now so slippery that they are not safe to wear at home. No stop! These clogs would be great for rough terrain, but when they get slippery from using house rugs (I mean, they're meant to be used as slippers, right?) they become dangerous. I would like to return them but I think it's too late. So I'm writing this to warn others. If I buy another pair, it should be the black version with rubber soles. >>> As you can see in the attached photo, the soles are well polished with normal use. If they weren't so smooth they would have lasted a few more years but now I have to buy something else.
