LEDs are the future
I'm making several LED replacement light fixtures for my home. Had a crazy hallway Fluor. fixture with square base lamps (couldn't get anymore) so replaced lamps and holders with LED strips with are 12volt and use only 3 watts of power. And another good thing, it puts a lot more light. These strips of leds are easy to configure and power with adapter/chargers saved from old cell phones and other electronics. Supposedly LEDs last a lot longer also.
- After a few years, a couple of sections go out. The double sided tape never seems to hold, must staple.
- May not be bright enough for larger rooms or spaces
