Review on πŸ’‘ Revamp Your Space with Juno Lighting Temperature Retrofit Downlight: An Ultimate Lighting Upgrade by Joshua Castillo

So comfortable! Sounds great, VERY bright, tricky tuning.

Let's start by unpacking. Well packaged, the instructions are decent but there is no adapter to connect to a conventional outlet. I have replaced all of our lightbulbs with modified LEDs - each comes with an adapter. So I had or ordered one - nobody wears the Juno brand and I was worried that what I ordered wouldn't fit. I ordered five packs of "Rextin Medium Edison E26 Socket Adapters" for $15. I planned on making some connections if needed, but the connectors were compatible and connected directly to the light. Delayed by two days but fixed. Next was a typical smart device installation – installing an application, creating an account, switching Wi-Fi networks. If you have other Alexa-compatible devices installed, you know how. The app has less than 100 installations so far. The required permits were a problem. Access to change my phone's firmware, IMSI and permission to make calls? I did a quick check to make sure everything is legal. If you don't approve all of these, you won't be able to install the app or its hardware. So I gave permission. Then I had to create an account. It refused to accept my password and kept giving me the same "Insufficient number of characters. Must be lowercase. general message. I had everything. Problem? I had symbols - $ and *. Finally figured it out and removed it. Sloppy programming. It then took several attempts to get the speaker to log onto my network. The third time was adorable. Part of the process was also logging into Revain and allowing the device access to my account. Again made me nervous but I did. They really need to handle the whole registration process better - these steps alone will put a lot of people off. Part of the process was also sending a confirmation email. Yes, it ended up in spam because the sending mail server didn't match the headers -Information matched. Inaccurate again. But after all this was done, everything worked. In the Alexa app on my Android phone it shows as Alexa device displayed. It controls every other Alexa device, acts as a speaker, microphone, etc - in other words, it's a full-fledged Alexa. The music sounds great even at full volume and the light is surprisingly bright. The speaker looks like Alexa. Light like Juno light. I was expecting to see Alexa, speakers, and lights, but it makes sense. I can control the lights with any other Alexa in the house. The speaker doesn't have EQ control in the app or by voice - that's a shame. I also can't control the volume in the Alexa phone app, but I can with voice commands. When you're streaming music and say "Alexa." the music pauses and then restarts - unlike most devices where the music volume is reduced. Because it is a light bulb, the light switch will be turned off intentionally or accidentally. When turned on again, this unit takes about 15 seconds to reestablish a wireless LAN connection. The instructions are minimal, but it's really common sense. It is attached using these large spring clips. The physical installation took about two minutes. Software installation approx. 20 minutes. Photos: Installed with blue ring lights on (waiting for command after saying "Alexa"). The adapter I had to buy is in the box on the back of the device.
