Review on ๐ŸŽญ Enhance Your Role Playing Experience with the Chessex Role Playing Play Mat: Unleash Your Imagination! by Carlos King

Great product (double sided chessex megamat with 1 " squares and hexagons)

As everyone has said here, this chessex megamat is great. It's way better than tiles, which are (a) expensive, (b) unique (your players will start joking about how they've been to this forest before), and (c) unstable at the table. This mat has enough friction on both sides to practically stick to a smooth, flat surface, so you'll never shift it ((Of course, no guarantee that the mini-mini won't float above the mat.) And its size is perfect for a dining table that seats 6 or more A few tips for getting the most out of this mat: (1) Wash it thoroughly between sessions I usually do this once at the end of each play session, but then I take it home and wash it again (damp paper towels will do) be surprised how much ink can remain in the fibers of the carpet, even if they don't floors.(2) If you need to store it rolled up, turn it over so that the one used side (squares or hexagons) is on the outside. This way, if you roll it out on a table, the curl will go down and into the table instead of up off the table. This makes alignment easier. (3) This Ex po Wet Erase Markers (Expo Vis-A-Vis Wet Erase Markers, 8 Color Markers (16078)) work great on the mat and you get twice the colors for less. an additional $2 over Chessex-branded proprietary markers (Chessex Role Play Marking Pen: (4) Staedtler Lumocolor water-based overhead projector markers). (I remember reading reviews of Chessex markers that said their red markers left indelible marks on the mat. I can't personally attest to that, but I can personally attest that none of the Expo markers left indelible marks. Of course, I always rinse the mats immediately after our play sessions, but our sessions can last up to 5 hours.)(4) If, as in my case, your mat does not live in the same area as your play sessions take place, I strongly recommend getting a carrier tube. I just got Alvin Ice Tube 37" for this purpose (e.g. Alvin Ice Tube 37 Inch Blue) and it's great. For me, the tube is also quite large in diameter (2.75" inside), which means that the mat does not have to be kept rolled up so tightly when stored. The game has begun!

Pros
  • nice thing
Cons
  • vaguely remember
