I bought this for my niece so that she would have a case to put on another bottle of Aquasana that she has. These bottles can take a lot of damage and will not break even without a case. Because they are made of borosilicate glass, the water still tastes fresh and clean. However, the silicone seal inside the lid comes out, which it shouldn't, and this makes it difficult to close the lid properly (although when installed properly, absolutely nothing leaks). It also sometimes gets caught on the rim of the jar when you take the lid off and you have to slide it back into the lid. I got one of these bottles a while back and haven't had any problems with it. my. Quality control seems to have slipped a bit, but overall I still like these bottles. By the way, when these bottles are really clean, they sometimes creak when you open or remove the lid, as caps often do. Even a small amount of virgin coconut oil applied around the eyelid area will stop this. You may have to screw on and remove the lid a few times to make sure it gets everywhere, but this will stop the creaking and you won't taste the flour.
