I've tried two things: The first purchase was delivered and the disc was so warped that the aluminum edge in the mounting hole had cracked. I bent it back but I needed a new product. The replacement item has just arrived. Everything seems clean but nothing works. I have a known working M+B SSD for testing purposes. With the SSD installed, I've tried a direct SATA connection on a newer motherboard and an older one. I've tried two PCs with hot-swappable bays, I've tried using a SATA to USB adapter. But wait, that's not all; Luckily I had an old product that has not yet been returned. nope I changed the board from a curved block to a straight case. There are no dice! Device Manager doesn't see any changes. Management/Disk Management sees nothing, BIOS sees nothing. When connected directly to the power supply, the device heats up. I suppose there's a very specific caveat I'm missing. Or the technology is just bad. It's not NVME so it should just work, but it doesn't.
