I almost always wear small pants (well, unless they're products from a random Amazon company), for reference I wear a size 4 on Lulu Lemon and a size 2 Athleta - when I bought these shorts I wanted them to be baggy to be lounge/sleep wear (never for the public) so I wanted the belt to be very loose and I knew of the one who made them recommended they are already quite small so I went up two sizes too big and they are NOT *the* loose at the waist YET (yes, everything else is) as I wish I had bought a very large one. So if I buy another pair I will.
