Review on Revlon Moisturizing Paraffin Bath Refills by Sally Wiesner

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Makes skin very soft

I use this paraffin wax with my Revlon Spa Moisture Stay machine. I have excellent results. I love how it leaves my hands and feet soft and hydrated. It softens my calluses and rough spots very well. I heat the wax in the car. First you need to break the wax into smaller pieces to make it melt a little easier. Melting takes a few hours. This is the only downside as you need to know in advance that you want to use the device, so plug it in ahead of time so it's ready when you want it. I always take a bath/shower before the procedure, so I clean myself before I get in the wax. The wax has a rather pleasant smell. It's not a scent I'm in love with, but it's not repulsive in any way. I would love to find a wax that smells really good, like the Bath and Body Works fragrances. I should go to their store and see if they sell wax. Once the wax melts, I dip my hands and feet into the hot wax. I do about 5 push-ups with each arm and leg. Then I let the wax dry until it starts to pull away from my skin. I don't use plastic bags. I've tried them, but haven't seen where they really do much good. Once the wax is dry I take it off and throw it back into the hot wax. I rub my hands together and on my legs to soak up any remaining moisture on my arms and legs. The instructions say to throw away the old wax and pour out the hot wax with each use. Well if I did I would have to buy more wax each time I use it which would be very expensive. I use the same wax over and over again. I've done about 50 treatments on myself and I still have plenty of wax left. I haven't even needed a refill. When I'm done. I turn off the machine and the wax freezes in the machine. Next time I use it I just plug in the machine and the wax will melt again in about 2 hours. I try not to break it up into smaller pieces and it melts just fine anyway. I didn't even have to buy the fillers I bought. The wax really lasts a long time. Also, I don't put a white plastic heat shield on the underside of the machine, as the plastic will keep the wax from re-melting as it dries and cures in the machine when you try to heat it up for the next treatment.

Pros
  • (2) 1 lb blocks of paraffin wax
Cons
  • I don't really like it, it's ok
