2 stars are generous. They are soft to the touch and I love all the towels I've bought from the rag company except these. I have over 30 Eagle Edgeless Towels, a few twist loop drying towels, etc., but they left light scratches that I need to buff. I used them as a drying towel with desiccant as always and had no scratches or swirls and these towels left a mark. Very dissatisfied as I have just done a powerlock, 845 combo collinite topped by a bead maker and the machine was perfect and set up. Now I have to polish and start over. They might work for some purposes like windows or wheels I know but I would stay away from paint.
