There are many portable seating options, from folding chairs to canes, telescopic chairs and foldable step stools. These folding camping chairs are ideal for travel/hiking. They take about 20 seconds to set up and 30 seconds to put away. They are very compact and light. They fit in a backpack the size of a medium sized umbrella. These aren't the most comfortable chairs. Those with wide butts may feel pressure from the frame. They are a few inches shorter than the normal seat height, making it difficult for some people to get up after sitting on them. Medium quality. Not sure how long they will last. I think it's a great alternative to a chair just for when you're travelling, waiting in lines, gardening, airport waiting etc. I find them better than chairs with tripods or something. They take the same amount of time to install, but when folded, they take up minimal space and fit in a bag.
