Doesn't grab the rope. I tried using this with 1/4 inch rope. It looked promising, big heavy duty aluminum. The teeth are poorly finished or well adjusted. There is also a rounded groove in the tines which I think allows the rope to slide. Another thing that allows the rope to slide is that it has a smooth painted finish.
