They were perfect for my trip to Thailand where I wanted to wear something open due to the heat and feel safe and comfortable even on days when I have to walk a lot. The straps didn't chafe and my feet were well supported thanks to the built in arch and well cushioned soles. I would recommend them to everyone. I have wide feet (I'm a size 9) but I bought a regular size 10 and the straps made me very comfortable. They are also easy to clean and the straps dry fairly quickly.
