The first one was a birthday gift, and the joy was unbounded until one day when it leaked onto the laminate at night, causing 4 liters of water to spill out onto the floor (filled up to the top for the night). Six months later, it leaked out once more, and the laminate is once more swollen. They moved it to a different location and were delighted to find that it worked as expected. For the first occasion, we poured several types of water: 5% distillate, 65% store-bought water, 30% from the tap, did not intervene, and whatever was available was poured. The second time they got a separate jug filter that was solely for the humidifier, the cartridges were changed promptly, and the outcome was the same: it spilled out again and the laminate swelled once again. It's fortunate that they were at home when they discovered the leak because they would still have to answer to their neighbors. Overall, a GIANT risk. I no longer desire to engage in those activities.
