I didn't buy this zippered mattress topper to keep out moisture or bed bugs but to keep my foam mattress topper right on top of my mattress. Waterproof is a nice bonus. My children like to go to bed. This mattress topper doesn't sound like plastic when you step on it and doesn't keep me too warm. My mattress topper fits over this zippered mattress topper and never slips off. The zipper is covered in material once fully closed and I had no trouble zipping it up. I installed the zippered mattress bag myself by lifting part of the mattress onto the footboard. If I can do it, any other adult can do it too. I love it so much that I plan to buy this zippered mattress bag for boys bunk bed mattresses again when we get the bunk bed. I'll probably buy one for my daughter's bed too.
