Review on Hunter Haskell Low Profile Ceiling Fan with LED Light and Pull Chain Control, 42 Inches, Brushed Nickel by Amy Hernandez

Motor housing cover does not fit properly

This ceiling fan looks very nice and works well BUT there is a design flaw that the motor housing does not fit snugly to the ceiling. The mounting bracket is equipped with 4 rubber isolation mounts that are in contact with the ceiling to dampen vibration. The problem is that these rubber grommets are too thick and therefore push the mounting bracket too far away from the ceiling for the cover to fit snugly against the ceiling. I had to bend the outside of the ceiling mount up on each side to allow the chassis to sit flush with the ceiling. I could take the whole unit off the ceiling and start over with thinner rubber washers, but I've already wired them up. Before installing the motor, check that the motor housing is flush with the ceiling. If not, remove the 4 rubber grommets and take some thin rubber washers or rubber bands to use as a damper between the ceiling and the mounting bracket. This should ensure that the gap between the motor housing and the ceiling is closed. Best of all, when I contacted Hunter, they told me that 1/8 inch spacing is acceptable. After that answer I just hung up. In what photos of this fan can you see a gap between the ceiling and the motor housing, the answer to this question is no.
