I bought this unit with a flip screen so my kids can watch movies on the go. My car had a handy parking brake cable in the wiring harness. There is no vss cable. The problem with this unit is that the video outputs mirror what is displayed on the main unit. So if I turn on the video blocking feature on the head unit screen (in the driver's field of view) and the parking brake isn't on, they get blocked on the flip up monitor as well. Whatever is displayed on the main unit screen will also be displayed on the video output. The external video outputs must always display the film during playback! I can't block the video for the driver and allow passengers. This is bad design and is generally illegal in most states. In addition, the system only allows you to stay in standby mode for 60 minutes. If you're away from the car for more than an hour, you'll have to wait 90 seconds for the stereo to boot up. The rear view camera is still displayed immediately while the system is booting. To me, those are pretty big cons. I would not buy this block again. If you don't add an extra screen for passengers in the back, this might work for you.
