While they don't do anything you can't do with a zip tie, they're quicker to use (open the tab rather than twist, unwrap, unwrap, and unwrap). They are well made with high quality leather and genuine brass clasps. One reviewer complained that he/she had trouble getting one of these over the Lightning cable, and yes, a quarter inch longer wouldn't hurt. The solution, however, is to simply roll the cable into a loop of any size so that the leather buckle fits around it. In other words, if the clasp doesn't fully enclose the coiled cord, just make the coiled loops an inch or two larger and you'll be fine. I have these 10 foot coiled tether cords with a thick woven outer braid and they still fit in an inverted open palm (meaning the cords when coiled are only 5-6 inches in diameter). They're on every cable I have, but I use them on cables that (a) I wind and unwind frequently - the locking mechanism helps make it faster - and (b) cables I use in front of business partners. I think they show a bit of class - that you're not just using that twisted tie you have on your bread bag.
