I chose to use the board with the MSI H110 chipset for its utility with extensive fan speed settings. I want the PC to be as quiet as possible and their fan speed utility allows you to set custom speed curves based on temperature and it works great. The utility can work with non-MSI boards, but I wanted to support them as it is very good. I connected the MB to an i5-6500 with CoolerMaster 212 EVO cooling and everything is very quiet. I can also confirm that the onboard Realtek 2.1 and 5.1 surround sound output works great and produces nice, clear sound. One complaint: MSI mentions that it has USB 3.1 ports, while other manufacturers with similar boards only mention that USB 3.0 is enabled. Turns out they're both the same, *" the USB-IF organization published an article announcing that USB 3.0 5Gbps (SuperSpeed) ports are now classified as USB 3.1 Gen 1 While the newer USB 3.1 10Gbps (SuperSpeed+) ports are now classified as USB 3.1 Gen 2, don't be fooled into thinking this board offers faster USB support than similar H110 boards in this price range other manufacturers, MSI just uses the new USB 3.1 Gen 1 naming convention. I thought that would be another advantage manufacturers had, but it turns out that wasn't the case.* [.]
