This strap is definitely more comfortable than the standard Oculus strap. The large soft part holds the back of the head securely while remaining soft. The adjustment knob makes it very easy to tighten just enough to hold the Quest 2 on your head during your VR session, and just as easy to loosen when it's time to relax when you're done. The assembly of the belt takes a few minutes. After removing the old strap, you need to attach it to the ear cups of the headset strap. I had only moderate difficulty with this task, mainly due to the stiffness of the adjustable sides of the headband. The fabric top strap with velcro at both ends is easy. Only the battery holder remains. This is the part I had the most trouble with. The tolerances between the tabs on the holder and the slots on the back of the headgear are very tight, making it very tight. It took me a lot of effort to put it in place. But I'm sure it won't fall off. I don't like using a headset that's connected to a cable. It always seems to get in the way. It either gets tangled in my hands, or if it's a sedentary app, I invariably sit on the cable and there's judder on the headset when I turn my head. This is the main case I'm making for a headband that you can mount the battery to. Besides the adjustment knob, the battery holder is another feature that makes this item attractive. I was concerned that the battery holder didn't secure my external battery well during fast head movements. The sprung sides of the mount are not very large, smaller than my battery and not reaching half the height. I expected that if he moved violently, he would simply fall out of the grip of his hands with his own momentum. Luckily my fears dissipated after a few hours of using the Echo VR, my power supply held up quickly. After using this headband for several hours for a week, I found it very comfortable. While it feels heavy when I pick up the entire build, including my Quest 2, headband, and battery, the weight isn't really noticeable when it's on my head. The harness distributes the weight well. This is improved by adding the battery weight on the back to offset the weight of the headset on the front.
