I've had mine cutters for about a year. This is my first circular knife so I may not have to bother with adapting another type of knife that other people use, but I'm pretty happy with mine. as sharp as you like. I've been using it for a while but it skipped when I tried to go over more than two pieces of fabric. I replaced the blade with Kisswill blades mainly because they were cheap and had good reviews and they work well for me. I haven't had any issues with the blade cover or the knob you use to adjust the position unless I'm trying to control both at the same time. (The blade cover must be locked in place to rotate the handle, and the handle must be firmly in place to use the blade cover.) I have a vague memory that it might be a little stiff the first or second times I used it , but that was it has been running smoothly for me ever since. I close the lid every time I put it on since I have pets and kids even when I'm cutting so I get frustrated when it wasn't easy. Considering this was my first purchase of a slicer, I really liked the idea of being able to try different handle configurations without having to buy more than one slicer, and I'm glad I have options, although I mostly stick to it found configuration designed for more leverage/heavier cutting most of the time. The only difficulty I had the first time was that I had a hard time getting the screw out after removing the nut, but all I really had to do was push the opposite end of the screw onto the table . I guess there aren't many parts and details to look out for when changing blades. I've noticed that many tailors have extra shims and parts that need to be returned in the correct order. It was just the end of the nut, the end of the bolt and the handle itself. Overall, a year later, I am happy with my purchase and expect to own this product for a long time.
