I bought 3500 of these lights for outdoor holiday decoration. I wrapped the AC units in plastic with duct tape so they are not exposed to the weather. The light worked perfectly until the first rain. After that, about a quarter of the lights either stopped working or only worked intermittently. Upon closer inspection I can see that some of the threads were factory spliced and the splicing was done poorly. Also, the wires connecting all the bulbs are very thin and brittle. When I removed all the lights there were kinks in the threads caused by attaching them to the branches of the trees and bushes outside. These kinks came undone and the wires broke, this happened to two of the eight cores purchased. I suspect I'll have to fix this next year before I use them again. Not being able to end to end also means you have to have one fork per strand, making the logistics of feeding the strands more difficult. In general, these lights are very bright, but durability and quality are questionable.
