Review on ๐ŸŽง Beyerdynamic Lagoon ANC Explorer Bluetooth Headphones: Cutting-Edge ANC and Customizable Sound in Grey/Brown by Sharon Watson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Pros, cons and advantages of Beyerdynamic Lagoon (HR) headphones.

Advantages: __________ Very compact and can be folded by yourself. You will find a place in almost every bag. USB-C for charging. USB-C means faster charging compared to the alternative micro-USB found on some headphones. It doesn't, so it's a thumbs up in my book. The main panel is the right ear cup and is very touch sensitive. I feel like I don't need to exert any pressure to operate these headphones as the response time is almost instantaneous (more on that later). I found it very creative at Beyerdynamic to install multi-colored LED lights in each ear. a cup. I really like it because there's usually a little indicator on the outside of the headphones that shows if your device is fully charged, low battery, Bluetooth syncing, etc. This layout makes these notifications easy to spot and honest Said to be the most interesting a visual warning system I've seen in headphones in a long time. A small nugget in the lighting system is that each earcup glows a different color (left is blue, right is red) so you know which one fits your ear. Didn't realize how useful this is as it helps if you want to use them at night. ยท I've been using these headphones for over a week and the battery life is pretty much on point for what it's worth. During my testing, I mixed the two, including two levels of active noise cancellation (ANC), and calculated the long-term battery results. The battery drains faster with active noise cancellation, but without it you can get around 2 weeks of use on a single charge. Subtly, it depends on your usage, but the battery life is 45 hours without ANC, or around 25 hours with it. The soft ear cushions reduce a noticeable amount of noise even without ANC activated. Very tight lineup. The ANC is doing a pretty good job of destroying the outside world. With two levels, level 1 blocks all low frequencies and level 2 only blocks ambient noise. For me, the first level was best when I still wanted to be aware of my surroundings, and the second level was best when I just wanted to be alone. The ANC does a decent job and does what it was designed to do. For me, one of the best advantages is the app developed for it. This is one of the few apps that, when connected to headphones, allows you to adjust the frequency of the sound to suit your ears' habits. I know other companies offer custom sound levels, but this one is very easy to use, allows you to change the volume of each earbud individually, and has a sound test that automatically creates a new sound profile just for your hearing. The test is very simple as all I had to do was hold down the button until I heard the beeps. After the test, I received my new sound profile, which was specially created for me. The app also offers other cool features such as: B. to track how long you use your headphones and warn you when you need to turn off your music before it damages your hearing. These very personal items make a great gift no matter who you are. In summary, we can say that the sound is excellent. I tested with Jay Z, Foo Fighter and some random jazz music and overall the experience was excellent. Jazz's low end tones gave me clarity and detail, Jaz Z's mids sounded very realistic (with great bass) and Foo Fighter's highs gave me more power without clipping a note. The best part has to be the vocal range this headset can offer. Regardless of who is speaking or singing, the hardware within them allows for "more personal" songs. The bass is deep, offering respectful depth. The bass can be turned up in the app, but the factory settings (or your sound profile) create a balanced format with a tight bond between low and high bass. There is no distortion at maximum volume. I don't recommend using maximum volume, but it's nice to know that the hardware inside can keep up even at maximum volume. The built-in microphone works like a charm. I could speak clearly to my colleague when he was using his iPhone and I could clearly interact with Siri on his. I had no audio glitches and the ANC is really a big help when I'm in the office. ยท I didn't feel any strange pressure from the ANC gear because the ANC sometimes produces a pressure effect when used for a long time. ยท Even without a battery, a built-in 3.5mm cable allows you to plug in these headphones and listen passively. Disadvantages and advantages: __________ยท ANC produces a hissing sound when you work at low volume. It's easy to forget when normal volume levels come into play. But you can hear it on both ANC levels. This is similar to white noise, as other companies like Bose and Sony don't have as much noise in their headphones. Yes, I understand that ANC has some kind of hissing noise on all headphones, but that's enough for me to let you know. ยท When ANC is on, the bass is boosted more. Leaving ANC at its highest level (level 2) will have this effect. However, it is not important to tell them no. The headphones do block out a lot of sound before using ANC, but they fit my ears well. I can listen for an hour before my ears burn out and I have to have them removed. They are comfortable, just wish they had more foam on the ear cups so ears like mine don't feel cramped after an hour of use. ANC. No structural difference, I accidentally turned off my headphones many times. Even a tiny swipe on the ANC buttons would make a difference. There is some loss of sound when the headphones are on. You won't notice, but if you turn the volume up to around 80%, your colleagues will. The touchpad is too sensitive. The response is quick but it's annoying because it takes me multiple times to play or pause the song. Options like this have a small advantage, but the touchpad is very compact, so it's advisable to touch the wrong part. This compact touchpad with buttons sits on the right earcup. The one on the left is empty. ยท Still outdated Bluetooth 4.2. This version was released in 2014 and with the release of Bluetooth version 5 I was disappointed with the upgradeability. It still works, but 4.2 has limits on how far you can go without a decent connection. One issue I get is that these headphones sometimes fall asleep after about 50 minutes of playback. It's still connected to my phone but there's no music coming out of the headset. I had to turn my headset off and on again to fix this error. I assume that a firmware update will fix this problem. The overall headset feels premium, but it also feels a bit unreliable. I don't mind as I prefer lighter weight headphones if you wear them for a reasonable amount of time. However, it has been observed that you need to be careful about where you place them. Lots of LED lights you need for reminders. Standby, low battery, active Bluetooth, Bluetooth loss, firmware update, etc. Conclusion: __________ I've tested both Bose and Sony in the past, and I can say that the Beyerdynamic should be top, too. Excellent balance and bass for music of all ages, and the battery life is spot on. Bose and Sony still lead the way in ANC and overall natural headphone sound, but one of the main reasons I put Beyerdynamic at the top along with the other guys is what stays behind the scenes. I admire the applications that Beyerdynamic provides for this. Headphones. The ability to create an individual volume profile just for you and for each ear is impressive. It was very easy to pass the test and overall the setup is pretty accurate for anyone who might have hearing issues. However, I don't like that the touch sensor and ANC buttons are on the same earcup. I've never been a fan of touch sensors because with this design you can make a lot of mistakes trying to find the right spot to stop or start. The power and ANC buttons are identical in texture, making it cumbersome to try to change the ANC instead of turning the headset off. I know it looks more elegant, but the user experience degrades when encountering such issues. Since the ear cushions are too rigid, the design isn't for everyone. Ultimately it's still a great headset, it just has a lot of small issues which I hope will be fixed with firmware updates in the future. For those traveling and needing something for the road or flight, this is a pretty decent option. Overall: A great headset that adjusts to your 'specific' ear strength, but the overall design feels a bit messy. Hope I helped. To you. With love, honest reviewer.
