Few setup issues, but once setup it works fine. good price too.

This "Bidook Smart IR Remoteโ€ is an IR emitter that connects to your Wi-Fi network and can be controlled with standard home automation app (Tuya) and Alexa (via skill). The home automation application "tuya/smart life" is quite standard and used by various Chinese manufacturers for light switches and various home automation devices. For the customization I would only give this product 2 or 3 stars. But once you've successfully jumped through the hoops and set it up, it actually works well. The instruction manual is confusing and wrong. (1) The picture shows a "power button" which I could not find on the device itself. (2) The user manual told me to search for the "Graffiti Smart" app, but it doesn't exist. I found the "tuya" app and used it to set up the device. (3) The user manual asked me to select "Universal Infrared Remote Control" under "Other"; but again this is not the case. I ended up with the "Universal Remote". (4) It took me some time and several emails to the seller to figure out that the "little hole" at the top is actually a "pinhole reset" button. With the paper chip I can put the device back into "hotspot pairing mode" (slow blinking) so I can enter my home network access password on the IR remote control. So once I understand the above and put this remote into my home network and app, setting up IR/Remote transmission is actually pretty easy. In the app you can add several functions to the IR remote, most if not all of the typical branded devices are in the system so you only have to choose what you need. It took me just a few minutes to add my Samsung TV, Denon receiver and Panasonic air conditioner to the app and then add the skill to the Alexa app. Then Alexa can instantly control my TV, audio receiver, and air conditioner. I've been using it for a few weeks now and am very happy with its performance. Thank you for reading this review. I hope this review and photos help you with your purchase decision.
