A few years ago I lost track of how much I had been through. Good ones last up to a year and a half. Every time I buy a new one, I have to return at least the first purchase. The quality control on these transmitters is as bad as any product I've had. I like the sensors but I'm tired of changing oil pressure sensors. The last pair broke right after the warranty expired. I had no problems with the Auto Meter's water temperature transmitter. Application - 1994 Cummins 12 valve diesel. I've tried what others have suggested, running an external ground wire and replacing the teflon tape, but these modifications haven't changed. As instructed by tech support, I checked and even replaced all wiring. The transmitter will still provide a signal when the oil pressure is above about 70psi but falls below 60psi. Everyone ends up doing that, whether they're brand new, a month old, or over a year old. If anyone can suggest a better replacement from another brand I'll try to avoid the Auto Meter for future oil pressure supplies. unit needs.
