I was trying to connect the USB-C end of this drive to one of my iMac's Lightning ports. It stuck out a few millimeters. I tried to force it on, but the resistance I received signaled to me that something was wrong with the drive, not the outlet on my computer. Just to be sure, I tried my Macbook Pro. All four Thunderbolt 3 ports had the same ridiculous resistance. And mind you, I've used ports for other USB-C devices without such resistance in the past. So I sent the disc back and asked Revain for a replacement. The replacement arrived today. I noticed that the mechanism that allows you to switch between USB Type-A and C was very weak. It pulled back when I tried to insert it. So I started filing another statement, this time asking for a refund. But since the refund would be $0.00, I decided to test my development theory with this drive. It seemed that with these two devices, the case was likely in the case. So I started disassembling it, believing I had nothing to lose. It took quite an effort, but I made it. Now both ends of the drive are working. Plugging the USB-C side into my Macbook Pro immediately confirms this with a tactile click when it makes contact and macOS sees the drive. This was a big problem, but at least the drive is working now. Terrible designed product.
