I have an active filtration system in my aquarium but I'm fed up with a few things including very frequent water changes (I did it weekly and went every other day), anti-stress coating, other medications , and it gradually got worse and worse. At this point, although he only had a few days left (that was over a period of about 4 weeks), he was sitting on his butt not eating, his body curved in a crescent shape but his gills kept moving. Its tail and fins are completely rotted. I put the maximum (what I thought was safe) amount of this salt in his aquarium and within 2 days (fighting the lack of a special fin structure) he was back up and eating food! It's been a month with this product and I add about 15 grains of salt with every water change (weekly) and his tail is back and his main fins have fully recovered. He's building bubble nests again and attacking any food I throw. I know the salt treatment has some downsides for freshwater fish so I plan on using this for just another month on the same schedule. After that, I'll probably only use it as needed.
