If you've been thinking about getting a "real " microphone, it's hard to find better value for your money.

I wish we had upgraded to D2 a few years ago. I first saw this mic on Booth Junkie's YouTube channel, where he does a great comparison between the Synco D2 and the Sennheiser MKH-416, a classic gun mic that costs around $1,000. I was interested in Sennheiser but it's such a big investment so when I found out about Synco I had to try it. My wife and I recently started using Synco for voice acting and it's a HUGE upgrade over the Blue Yeti we've been using for years. The difference between day and night. The D2 has a wonderful, warm tone without the harshness we've always given the Yeti EQ. There's also a lot less mouth noise, perhaps because we can position the mic a little farther from our mouth. And since it's a shotgun, it can be positioned so it doesn't get hit by explosives (we still use a pop filter to get an occasional breath). And of course, the hypercardioid polar pattern picks up less ambient noise. The storage box it comes in is very good and I can see it being useful for travel and shooting in the field. I wish they had a shock absorber rather than a simple clip-on mount, but we found an inexpensive mount that works really well (Movo SMM1 for $13). . Eventually, though, we'll try it on the road, where it'll probably be more useful. For context, we're running the D2 in a PreSonus AudioBox USB 96, which has no power issues.
