Definitely worth paying the extra for these rather than cheap unreliable models. This is a complete and well thought out call. It has all the basic features and controls you would expect, and it's very loud at full volume. The volume control has 3 levels plus a silent mode. The tone is adjustable from low to high so you can find the right tone for the hearing impaired. It has 2 jack sockets, input and output. So you don't need 2 sockets or a splitter. But it also works when plugged into a different socket than a phone (e.g. in another room). It even comes with a phone cord. The battery is not needed, it is powered by the telephone line.
