I know some of the reviews I've read said their stand wasn't square or tilted to one side. All I can say is that I spent a few extra minutes assembling it to make sure the threads weren't tightened to the point where the wood wasn't flat or square. He kept going until my three kids threw coats, hats, scarves and winter pants at him and then yanked them all back. The bottom is strong and proportioned enough to prevent it from tipping over easily and I was very happy with it. The farmhouse/industrial look is exactly like the picture and I think it's overall good value for the style I wanted.
