It was easy to install and works well with a 60 watt bulb which I used as a night light in very low light (when my husband goes to bed early and wants to leave the low light on). for me) smoothly at full brightness. However, the cartridge sits slightly crooked in the sleeve, which means that the lamp tilts slightly to the side when screwing it in. I took it apart a few times and gently flexed the innards before reattaching the cuff to see if I could straighten it out. up, but to no avail. Actually this is only a problem because I am using a lampshade that attaches to a lamp and would not have this problem with a harp type lampshade holder. In my case the lamp and lampshade are clearly misaligned but not visible and having a dimming function is more important than making it look perfect. I couldn't find any of these locally, so it's good that Revain offers them.
