This review is for the Mymahdi Sport Music Clip, 8GB Bluetooth MP3 PlayerThe specs all sound great - comes with a clip, a watch band, and even a lanyardoption, an FM radio, with headphone and Bluetooth options. It utilizes primarily a touch interface, and is expandable up to 128GB, via micro SD card slot.Unfortunately, most of the pros are overshadowed by the poor user interface.MaterialsLet's start with the good points. Looking at the materials, I had high hopes. The enclosure is milled from one piece of solid aluminum. The specs say thescreen is 2.5D tempered glass, although it's a bit difficult to judge it with thefactory installed screen protector - well placed, albeit with a few small bubbles.I'm wondering if it might have a bit more clarity and brightness with the protectorremoved. I hesitate to remove it for obvious reasons. The band seems durable enough, with proper strain relief design at the appropriatespots. Instead of the typical belt buckle style fastener, it features the increasinglypopular fixed stainless steel post that achieves fastening in a less bulky manner. As you'll see in one of the pics, there was one poor design choice in the watch band. While it does allow headphones to be plugged in, you have to remove the unit fromthe strap, to charge it.ImplementationThis is where things go downhill. To be fair, the first negative is something many manufacturersare guilty of - making screen to body ratio appear better than it actually is, intheir advertising. You'll see in my pics that this item actually has pretty large borders. The icon screens, as well as the time/date lock screen are passable, yet pretty dim.A bigger problem is when it comes to text of any sort. The micro font is ridiculouslysmall, even for the sharpest, youngest eyes. A "dark mode" setup would improve this. The sound quality is decent enough, although there's not much power to be had here. Most will feel the max volume is insufficient. One additional note about battery life - I was not able to test this, as my unit eitherhas a bad battery, or some problem in the circuitry. It didn't appear to ever fullycharge, and I literally only had only a few minutes of play with the charge that it would hold. This fact should be considered an anomaly, and hopefully won't be an issue for others. To summarize, the most eagle-eyed consumers might find all the compromises acceptablegiven the quality of the materials and affordable price. Most will need to look elsewhere.
