This cable has worked great for me. I have a docking station that I use for my laptop so I only have to use one cable to connect to my workstation at home. The docking station has the following connections: 2x HDMI, 3x USB 3.0 (SS), 2x USB 2.0, display port, Gigabit Ethernet port, headphone jack and audio output. When I moved to the other country (Chicago to California) I had a different home office configuration and the OEM cable was too short to meet my needs. So I ordered the cable and so far it's working great. All I need is a cable and my hard drives, additional monitors and ethernet connection work just fine. I can just disconnect when I need to leave the house and reconnect when I get home. And this cable does it all, PLUS it's longer than the cable that comes with the OEM and has made my life so much easier. And that's not just an exaggeration, it literally made my life easier.
