If you need desktop speakers, you can't go wrong with these. Just make sure you get stands that tilt them slightly up so you can get the full effect. If you want to fill up a whole room with music, then these will disappoint. But they aren't made or priced for that. I suspect the A5's would do that nicely. If you like quality sound and are willing to pay a bit more than most desktop speakers, I highly recommend these. Despite what a few people said, the bass is enough for it's intended use, plenty. I was pleasantly surprised as my Bose Companion 20 started going bad after 10 years and is discontinued. These are built better and have almost as good sound, imho. Good luck.
