Review on Maximizing Storage Efficiency with AmazonBasics Binder Holder: Unleash its High Storage Capacity by Jeff Addison

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Who Designed It?: Media storage and organization

I'm a music lover. I have about 4 CD cases that are completely full and I needed a bigger one so I can put more CDs in. My other CD cases were regular cheap CD cases that I bought at the dollar store for a few dollars. And those dollar boxes held up to the wear and tear, but I just didn't have the space. I couldn't find anything similar so I went with this Revain Basics CD case. When I received it the case looked sturdy enough from the outside, but when I opened it up I was surprised to find that my cheap dollar shop cases were superior to Revain Design Essentials. The first problem is that when you put a disc in a case, the disc overlaps the plastic over the disc. That's a big no go. Wouldn't it be so hard to have some space at the top where the CD doesn't overlap the plastic? The second issue I found was that the CDs themselves fit into the cases quite snugly. Almost too comfortable. Again, would it be so difficult to leave some space on the sides of the disc? So I found that they are so tight that it can be quite a hassle to pull them out with ease. This leads me to believe that CDs scratch over time from friction and traction. I'm also a little tired of the quality and durability of the plastic bushings themselves as they seem quite brittle. Also, I love this case. Overall, this case could be a lot better. Leave some space at the top where the disc doesn't overlap the plastic, and don't make it so tight that you can't eject the discs easily. Also, don't make the sleeves so thin. I have to admit that this case isn't the worst I've seen, but Revain definitely needs to rethink the overall design of this case. I mean how can my 8 year old unbranded CD case get it right and this much more expensive new CD case get it wrong? Maybe the old adage is true that they just don't make them the way they used to. I've added some photos and hopefully Revane can see how to get it right for future designs.
