For the first time I tried something with the word henna. It is very easy to apply and rinse off as directed. I have very long brown hair with a lot of gray at the roots. At the time I had about an inch of new gray growth. I usually color my hair about every eight weeks because I'm lazy, don't like the smell of permanent coloring and don't want to ruin my hair any more than I do now. If it comes down to it, I'm in my 50s. COLOR: I used a little over 1/3 of a bottle on my first try. I didn't really bother with the ends. I was very happy with the results. After that, I didn't have "here I am!" gray hair; Instead, some of the gray hair took on a golden hue while others turned golden brown. Overall, the shadows were blended very well. Since I missed a few gray spots, I used significantly more of this mask the second time around. SECOND USAGE: Fool me. I took a shower to remove the mask like the first time and then I felt like I needed clean hair. Big mistake. I used what I thought was a tiny amount of plumping shampoo and it got rid of most of the stain. Grrrrr. I failed. FINAL VERDICT: My hair is soft, not dry. It has the same semi-gloss as always, but looks a lot prettier. sorry for the pictures I should have taken a before photo but I didn't. No, my hair is not combed in the photos. The golden hue in this room is lit by a 100 watt lightbulb. I have natural red highlights so that golden color is more than welcome again!
