Review on πŸ§₯ Marmot Men's Guides Winter Jacket with Down Insulation by Cody Mckechnie

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Simple but very functional

being light because of the heat. Suitable for a large baffle jacket (go down a size if you're like me and find that down works best when fitted close to the body and not as effective when layered in between). had no trouble getting into the small size. I'm cold and I've found that lighter jackets with smaller baffles just don't work for me in terms of overall warmth - yes, they're stylish, just not as warm unless you're constantly on the move. Reversible handwarmer pockets lined with Driclime fleece are a nice touch. The cinch velcro cuffs are strong but I wish they were fleece lined to minimize light chafing against the skin. All in all a good deal when it's on sale but at full price I'd suggest something similar with a little more padding as other reviewers have pointed out a noticeable reduction in fuzz on the arms and I suspect the hood will help Stern deducts, but in general , it does not significantly affect the overall performance. It's clear that the shell of this jacket needs to be treated with care - I could see wading through the thorny foliage leading to disaster.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
