This apron saved lives!💕. I use it for welding lessons. I stupidly wore jeans that were cut to my length, I'm very short and they weren't hemmed. A pole stuck to my rubber on the side of my boot and the seat of my pants caught fire 🔥. I felt my leg getting hot. I saw the fire and my apron reached my shins. As I bent down to put out the fire, it flared up the side of my jeans, about 8 inches tall and 1 inch wide. . I wrapped the bottom of the apron around my leg and held it in place until the fire died out. At first I felt stupid wearing it. But after the fire I will always wear an apron. What a life saver! It turns everything yellow but washes off. I washed mine and stopped. He said washing it wasn't the best idea. It has become very soft after washing and wearing, but I have no issues with it. I prefer soft and it doesn't burn me. It also keeps sparks from getting to the front of my shirt! It's too hot for a leather coat in southern Mississippi, and I don't want to wear long pants that wrap around my leg to dampen the flames on my jeans. It's comfortable, thick enough, and worth it. I was lucky that I couldn't afford a jacket because it turned out to be more profitable. Long length is a plus! I washed mine two or three times to get some of the yellow out. I did this after once wearing an old sheet to wash. The fire was after being washed and it worked fine. I think it was able to fit nicely around my leg as it got softer after washing. Haven't washed since then. I love the skin burns they remind me what a great job they did! This way it keeps the sparks away and puts out the fire! What a smart purchase
