This unit drove my subs crazy but only the front right speaker worked in 4ch mode. In 2-channel mode, all four speakers worked, but had very little power and very high distortion. This item was defective and I have initiated the return process. I was very surprised because of the many good reviews about it. I have received my replacement. My pioneer has 4 channels, 2V outputs. I still have problems with the 4-channel mode. When switched on, the front right and rear left speakers do not work. Everything works and sounds good in 2-channel mode. Can't tell any difference in volume. Highs look cleaner. Subwoofer, my goodness, I had to turn the bass down to 1/2. This decision definitely makes the bass stronger and cleaner. The highs are definitely more defined and the volume ramps up more smoothly now. Now I have less bass and mids, but everything sounds cleaner.
