I had problems cutting my toenails. I thought that was the answer. However, this is not quite what I expected. You must be very careful in this matter. It cuts closer to the skin than you might think. I don't know how it differs from regular toenail clippers, but it does, and it's not just because the jaws open wider. It works well for some nails but not so much for others. I would definitely buy it again, but I don't throw away my old nail clippers either. By the way, the glass file works very well. It's probably worth what you pay for it and the clipper.
